Hi,

my next question :-)

can I register my own editor to edit artifacts of the certain (probably
also custom) type? If yes, how can I do it?

warm regards,
Alexander

We have recently had interest in other editors being added to support
editing different artifact types and in the 0.6.0, which we are starting
our eclipse.org release review, we have added such support.

Another option, however, is to use the generic Artifact Editor that is
provided with the framework. For many uses of editing any artifact,
attributes and relations, this will suffice.
