won't it help to place
%YOUR_CYGWIN_DIR%\bin
first in your path?

Yes, it probably would. What i'm looking for, though, is a way to
alter the default compiler for the CDT from the first 'make.exe' found
in my path to a compiler of my choice.
It seems like a pretty basic option, if ye ask me...
