Problem with Tomcat 6 & RAP 1.0 [message #55462] Thu, 25 October 2007 17:43 Go to next message

Hello,

I have a problem when trying to deploy latest release of
org.eclipse.rap.demo.feature into tomcat 6.0.14

I follow the steps to create the war, without any problems or error
messages.

After deploying the war to tomcat, I only see in the log file of tomcat
somehting like "osgi>" and this a hundred thousand of times! After a while
I have to kill tomcat.

When I start the plugin inside Eclipse everything works just fine. I have
also tried to deploy the war which is shipped with the demo feature and
this just works fine!

Is there a problem with latest release plugins and tomcat 6.0.xx?

The framework looks very interesting, and as I have already done some RCP
applications, I'm very interested also in RAP, but not to be able to
deploy it is a showstopper.

Thank you.

Best regards
Thomas

Hi,

this sounds as you had the -console (OSGi console) in your
configuration. Be sure to remove it before deploying your application.

Hi Thomas,

over here the rapdemo works without any problems with tomcat 6.0.14

Here is the .war file that we are using:

http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/download.php?file=/technolo gy/rap/rapdemo.war

The OSGi console is turned OFF in this war-archive. You can turn it on
for evaluation purposes, but it is recommended turning it off when
running in production environments.

Hello,

thanks a lot, this helped.

After commenting the commandline option in web.xml it works just fine.

Best regards
Thomas
