Hi Group,
I've problems to get the Agent Controller to start. I'm using linux and
followed the instructions. I set the LD_LIBRARY_PATH variable and set the
bin folder to PATH. Then I run the configuration.
The next would be to start the controller with RAStart.sh but it always
tells me: "RAServer failed to start".
Without any other information.
As I looked into the servicelog I found the following error log:
"Cannot create master named pipe: ramaster. Make sure the named pipe is free
and no other Agent Controller is using the same named pipe."
So I tried to delete the /tmp/IBMRAC/ramaster and start the RAStart.sh
again, but with the same result.
Whats going wrong?
Please help me, I ran out of ideas.

Yes, it is.

Yes, ramaster is recreated after I run RAStart.sh the second time.

I use an Fedora Core 4 with a self compiled kernel 2.6.12.1.
The log tells:
"Cannot resolve the host name of the local machine. Ensure the fully
qualified host name of the local machine is registered with the Domain Name
Server (DNS)."
and
"Cannot create master named pipe: ramaster. Make sure the named pipe is free
and no other Agent Controller is using the same named pipe."
The other log entries are no error messages, as far as I can see.

This still doesn't work. Why is it so complicated to get this thing running?
I recently read about IAC. How can I use this? Am I right, that using IAC
will keep me from using RAC, if profiling on the same machine?
The problem is now that I dont know how to configure TPTP to use the IAC
instead of the RAC.

Hi,
thank you very much for your help. Finally I solved the problem.
@Samson: The problem was a misconfiguration of my hostname. My hostname
couldn't be resolved by /etc/hosts, because it wasn't listed there. After
fixing this the Agent started.
@Thay: Thank you for your help in getting the IAC to run. This works, too.
