When I view a Bugzilla bug with Mylyn 3.0, all occurances of non-ascii
characters (in my case the Norwegian characters æ, ø and å), appear
garbled.
(I assume/hope that everyone who reads this e-mail will do so via a
piece of software that employs the correct encoding, and therefore my
examples here will make sense)
For example, the Mylyn task editor displays the following:
"Vedrørende separate rapporter:
Er det ok at vi i første omgang deler den opp ved å ta sideskift
før neste kontonr?"
The original (correct) text is:
"Vedrørende separate rapporter:
Er det ok at vi i første omgang deler den opp ved å ta sideskift før
neste kontonr?"
Clearly there is an encoding problem somewhere. Although the garbled
version is displayed in the Mylyn task editor, the *correct* text is
displayed when the same bug is displayed by the internal Eclipse web
browser.
So Eclipse's internal web browser does not have a problem with the
encoding - only the Mylyn task editor does.
Assuming that this is an ecoding problem, where can the correct encoding
be specified so that the correct text is displayed? I am using Mylyn to
handle customer submitted bugs and the current situation does not look
very professional.
I understand the concept of encodings, but it is often confusing to
determine exactly where the wrong encoding is being used, and sometimes
even more difficult to determine how to correct it.
I would greatly appreciate some help here.
