Hello,

I have been running eclipse on my windows without any problems, and now I
am trying to install it on a linux machine, without success.

I am using exceed to access the remote linux machine I am working on.

Symptoms:
I downloaded eclipse-java-ganymede-SR2-linux-gtk-x86_64.tar.gz from the
website, and unzipped it.
When running eclipse, it looks as if it starts, but just when it opens the
main window, it crashes, and kills exceed with it.
No trace is created.

I suspect that it might be related to fonts in exceed, but I have no idea
what should be set.

Additional information:
File downloaded: eclipse-java-ganymede-SR2-linux-gtk-x86_64.tar.gz
OS: Redhat Linux (rhel9), 64 bit.
JAVA: jdk1.5.0_14

Thanks for any advice!

I am having the same problem. I am using eclipse-cpp-galileo-linux-gtk-x86_64.tar and have tried both
jdk1.6_16 and 1.5_17. Both result in the same crash.

Exceed is 13.0.0.222

XServer seems to work fine otherwise (I can launch firefox and xclock with no issues).

Ideas would be appreciated!

Thanks,
Rich

Hello there,

I have the same problem as described above.
Did someone of you two already fix it?

I would appreciate any hints.

Kind regards!

I am having the same problem with Eclipse crashing Exceed.

I can run any other xapp fine on the linux box. but Eclipse crashes the exceed session.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
