Adding a panel? [message #465083] Thu, 22 March 2007 17:57 Go to next message

Hi all,

I have not had much experience with RCP. I have recently (using GMF, which
pretty much creates the RCP for you) created an RCP GMF editor. What I
would like to do is add to this by adding a panel (is this even the right
term?) to the editor. What I mean by panel is another window/box within
the editor. Preferably one that can be moved around as other panels can be
within the editor, although this is not absolutely necessary.

How this is done may depend on the purpose of the panel? I would like to
have a panel where simple boxes with name could be added in a uniform
manner. So when a button is clicked a new box within the panel would
appear (or they could be deleted as well), where this box could be double
clicked for some functionality. I'm guessing all of this could be done
some SWT stuff? So I need to add my own SWT functionality so it is
embedded into the RCP application. Would this be some kind extension to
eclipse?

Any help on how to do this or a pointer to tutorials would be greatly
appreciated,

John
