JBoss IDE & Webtools [message #4324] Thu, 19 June 2003 16:26

I represented JBoss IDE at the JavaOne Eclipse BOF, and John approached me
to talk about the Webtools project. The JBoss IDE team (Hans Dockter,
Laurent Etiemble, and myself, sort of) is very excited about this new
initiative. Obviously we believe very strongly in integrating Eclipse with
leading application servers. There is an *immense* need for this, and I'm
glad to see Eclipse.org waking up to it.

Our project leader Hans is unfortunately on vacation till the end of June;
it's up to him to decide the future of JBoss IDE, and what kind of
convergence is going to happen. At the very least I want to voice our
interest and excitement about the Webtools project.

I can speak only for myself; as such I am offering to Webtools the component
I authored: a full-featured JNDI Explorer. It isn't very much, but I'm sure
every line of code counts. Let me know how code contributions are handled.
