M6 installation [message #32121] Wed, 18 March 2009 09:04 Go to next message

Hello

When I attempt to install the TMF Xtext M6 component via the Update
Manager, I receive the following unresolved dependency:

!MESSAGE Cannot find a solution satisfying the following requirements
org.eclipse.ui.ide.application [1.0.0.I20080603-2000].

Is this a problem on my side? My Eclipse 3.5 installation has the plugin
org.eclipse.ui.ide.application_1.0.100.I20090120-0800.jar

Kind regards,
Dana

Hi Dana,

we haven't faced this kind of problem with the update manager so far.
The problem seems to be on your side :-( I'm afraid your OSGI caches may
be corrupt.

You may try to download a configured Eclipse distro from
http://oaw.itemis.com/openarchitectureware/language=en/2837/ downloads

Regards,
Sebastian

Hi, In Galileo (3.5), many remote update sites only work with classic
(Ganymede) updater. I recognize the error you get below as this could be
the source of your problem.

Go to Preferences -> General -> Capabilites -> Classic Updater
Now, you see the classic update function in the help menu.

Hope this helps.
p.s. still struggling myself to get it working in 3.5...
I miss the popup command to generate the code...
