If one just press the "Run" toolitem in eclipse, any some launch
configuration is started, couldnt realize a pattern behind it. In former
eclipse versions, it was so that the last executed launch config was
started. Anyone else experienced this problem?

:-) It began with 3.4 I think. Initially I too was wondering what the
heck is going on. But then found the Preferences:
Run/Debug->Launching->Launch Operation
