Hi,
I have seen that IBM (and others) seems to have ripped out the Eclipse Help
System and
placed it in an standalone web application. And I want to do the same!
I have a Jetty web server that hosts my application and I want to add the
Help System to my app.
How can I do that?
Pointers and any other help is appreciated
thanx

Hi,
First, fyi, there is an Eclipse newsgroup that's specific for
questions/discussion about the Eclipse Help System at:
eclipse.platform.ua
If you repost your initial message to that newsgroup, you'll get more
people who would respond. There are people who follow that newsgroup
have done what I think you want to do.
And when you repost to that newsgroup, would you clarify more about what
you want to do and your scenario that you think is not answered in the
Eclipse help docs? It sounds to me that you have the following scenario:
- You have a Web application that runs in a Jetty web server
- You want to provide a help system for that Web application, and have
it run in the same Jetty web server so your application can easily talk
to it
Is that an accurate description of your scenario?
If not, then can you name the examples from IBM that you think match
what you are trying to accomplish? That way, we could see an example of
what you are aiming to do?
If so, then it seems to me that you want to use what is called
"Deploying the infocenter as a Web Archive" in the Eclipse help docs:
http://help.eclipse.org/ganymede/index.jsp?topic=/org.eclips e.platform.doc.isv/guide/ua_help_war.htm
Have you read that topic to see if it meets the needs of your scenario?
Hope this helps,
Lee Anne
