Editor status info placement [message #331494] Wed, 10 September 2008 11:21 Go to next message

I'm using Eclipse 3.4.0 Build id: I20080617-2000 and CDT 5.0.0.200806171202
with a multi-monitor setup. The source code window is on the primary (left)
monitor and everything else (Project Explorer, Call hierarchy, Type
Hierarchy, debug, etc) is on the secondary (right) monitor. The only
annoyance with this setup is that the status bar display of
linenumber:column (visible when the editor has the focus, together with the
Writable/Readony and Inser/Overwrite indicators) is "right justified" so it
ends up on the right monitor. Is there a way to push it to the left?

Or do I have to write a plugin which takes up a configurable space on the
status bar (none of the status bar elements are resizable).

One thing you could do is keep the whole window on the left side and
detach the views you want and move them to the right screen.
