Hi Farokh,
I cannot speak for the P2 developers, but the impression I got when
researching this recently (we also use install handlers quite heavily and
cannot move to P2 without porting to touchpoints) is that P2 will never
support them. I think I read something about install handlers being too
tied to the old Update Manager to ever be fully supported. I am digging
through bug reports and wiki pages trying to find it again, but coming up
empty. Maybe a P2 person can chime in.
