Previous Versions of Eclipse and Plugins [message #329641] Mon, 30 June 2008 19:02 Go to next message

Hi,

I have been attemtpting to find the JEE version (as opposed to CDT,
Eclipse Classic, Java Developer, etc) of Eclipse 3.3.0. But, I haven't
been able to find it - despite having followed 110,923 links (or so it
seems)!

I am only finding versions back to 3.3.1.1 (Eclipse Classic). JEE Eclipse
has more of the plugins required by some of the 3rd party tools we are
using and one of those plugins is EMF 2.0. I attempted loading EMF 2.3 on
JEE Eclipse 3.3.2, but when I attempt to load the 3rd party plugin, I get
an error.

I am prepping this for subsequent distribution to our developers, and
don't really want to have to manage too many plugins.

Thanks for any help!

/dave

Archive versions of the platform are available at
http://archive.eclipse.org/eclipse/downloads/ . But it sounds like the
platform is not what you want, you want WTP and its prerequisites. So, I'd
suggest posting this question to eclipse.webtools, instead of
eclipse.platform. I imagine that there is an archive site for Europa (the
combined 3.3 release).

That said, if you can find a way to use 3.3.2, I think perhaps you will end
up happier; after all, it is basically 3.3.0 plus bug fixes. If you have
third-party plugins that rely on 3.3.0 and that do not run on 3.3.2, perhaps
there are updated versions of those plugins available? (If not, ahem, not
really my business to ask but I wonder about the wisdom of using them...)
