Eclipse does not run with JRE 1.6.0

I recently update my version of JRE to the 1.6.0 version.
But then on i canŽt start the eclipse plataform.

This update is made by the JRE it self so is a big problem for allmost
all users of eclipse.

Bye.

Camilo,

It almost makes you wonder how it could be possible that no one noticed
that Eclipse simply stops working with 1.6.0...

Which OS are you on? Specifically which JRE level/vendor did you update
too? I.e., if you run it with -version, what does it print? Are there
clues in the <workspace>/.metadata/.log?

I do not have any issue running Eclipse Classic SDK 3.4RC3 on Windows XP
(SP2) with a Java 6 runtime underneath.

....
java.runtime.name=Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment
java.runtime.version=1.6.0_05-b13
java.specification.name=Java Platform API Specification
java.specification.vendor=Sun Microsystems Inc.
java.specification.version=1.6
java.vendor=Sun Microsystems Inc.
java.vendor.url=http://java.sun.com/
java.vendor.url.bug=http://java.sun.com/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi
java.version=1.6.0_05
....

Regards, Uwe

In case the platform is OSX, see
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=216051 (the workaround is to
use a 1.5 jre).
