Hi

1)A Java project is added from a repository to workspace of IBM Rational
Application Developer (RDZ7.0) RDZ Eclipse version: 3.1.1
2) Close workspace (do not close the project before closing workspace)
3) Re-open RDZ, use the same workspace try to navigate to the Java project

OBSERVED RESULT
---------------
I am getting below error message in the session log:
"Resource - <project name> - is not managed"

I found out that .syncinfo file for that particular project is being
deleted on closing the workspace. Can anybody please tell me why .syncinfo
file is being deleted?

Srividya,

I don't think Eclipse would delete files. If you look at the file
system after 2) but before 3), is the file there?

Hi Ed

Its being deleted while workspace is closed.

And this problem is reproduced in one workspace, not reproduced in another
workspace. Our finding is that the only difference between these two
workspaces is one configuration folder content
(<workspace>\.metadata\.plugins\org.eclipse.pde.core\Eclipse
Application\org.eclipse.osgi ). Can somebody please tell me what is the
significance of this osgi folder..? How the contents of osgi are created?
And why content is different for different workspaces?

Srividya,

That's very odd. I think it's best to ask the folks supporting this
product because it sounds like during shutdown it may well be trying to
save this information and then is failing for some reason. Have a look
in the <workspace>/.metadata/.log if there aren't stack traces perhaps
related to such a failure. I'm pretty sure the file you mention is
created as part of a named launch configuration being launched...
