It seems fairly obvious that this is not a site managed by eclipse.org -
it is a mirror. You should look to see if p2 has any bugs reported about
what happens if a selected mirror is unavailable; if you don't find one,
enter your own to suggest that p2 should proceed to another mirror in
that scenario.

As you yourself pointed out, this is pre-release software; the only way
it can get better is for early adopters like yourself to report the
problems they find. The newsgroups are good for discussion, but are not
the mechanism by which to report problems so that they get appropriate
attention.

Yes, that's as maybe. If it is failing this close to a final release,
then I think there is something sereiously wrong with the whole P2
business - ie. half baked. My original post is expressed with the
persona of a new user.
