Eclipse slows down [message #328132]

I have a problem with Eclipse when starting to run a java application I am
developing. It happens on any application. I start the java application
(using the debug arrow button) and it runs extremely slowly. All other
applications (e.g. firefox browser) also run slowly. I go to the task
manager and it shows the System Idle process using 9x% (or whatever the
metric is there).
I end up having to restart the computer. This happens 2 or 3 times a day
(out of starting an application maybe 50 times in a day)

Its as if there's a JVM gobbling all the CPU time, but no indication of it
in the task manager.

What can I do?

Can you try if increasing the perm gen space helps?
