Team --> Share --> CVS [message #28804] Thu, 08 May 2003 10:52 Go to next message

I've encountered a few different occasions where I've wanted to simply
checkout an open source project (such as jakarta-commons), using an
anonymous user, but was unable to. The error I get is: "The specified
repository location already exists". I've searched all over the internet
and have yet to find anyone else who has ran in to this.

Here are the steps to reproduce:
- Create a new project named jakarta-commons
- Right click on the project, go to Team, Share Project, CVS
- Fill in the following info:
Host: cvs.apache.org
Repository path: /home/cvspublic
User: anoncvs
Password: anoncvs
Connection Type: pserver
- On the next page, click use project name as module name.
- Click finish.

Anyone know why this would be happening?

Why don't you simply checkout the project using CVS Repository view?

It looks as if the repository location already exists. Select an
existing repository connection in step 3.

Jeremy,

This is a known bug (see bug 26171 at [CVS UI] Share Project fails for
new repo and existing project).
