Search results in stand-alone help system: can I increase # of items using maxHits value? [message #285627] Fri, 20 May 2005 16:22

Hi,

This question came from one of my colleagues:
We're using the standalone help system and also an infocenter. Our
documentation set is large and in searches, it looks like the maximum
result set that is returned is 500.

It looks like that value is specified in:
org.eclipse.help.webapp_3.0.1/basic/advanced.inc file
in <input type="hidden" name="maxHits" value="500" >

If we increase value="1000", will it increase the maximum number of
search hits returned?

Other than modifying file advanced.inc, is there anything else we'd have
to do to achieve the result we want (more search hits returned)?

Thank you!
