Regarding Eclipse, I would like to know:
a) Can Eclipse be used in RedHat OS?
b) We want to buy Eclipse or find a way to use a commercial version. Is
this possible?
c) Can I use Eclipse for both Java and C++ programming?
d) To enhance the efficiency we'll need several plug-ins; can anybody
recommend us what plug-ins we have to buy?
e) How can we protect the Java programs we create from both legal and
software points of view. We want to use licesend software applications in
order to own the applications we create. We would also to have a
protection regarding the compiled software we'll offer.
Thank you,
E

I generally agree with Hendrik's answers, but I must correct one: Eclipse is
available in quite a few commercial forms, although like Hendrik I am not
sure why you would want that. BEA Weblogic, IBM RAD, etc., are commercial
products based on Eclipse. MyEclipse is also a commercially supported
Eclipse product. In fact, if you spend a bit of time looking at the
corporate members listed on the Eclipse web site you will discover quite a
few commercial Eclipse-based products and Eclipse add-ons.
Question "d" makes no sense to me. What do you mean by "to enhance the
efficiency"?
Question "e" is not really a question about Eclipse, I think. It is also
much too broad a question to get a useful answer.

If you're looking for plug-ins, try EPIC:
http://www.eclipseplugincentral.com/
You can find commercial products based on Eclipse technology in the
Third party Distros off the downloads page:
http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/
