When testing a connection to an Oracle DB I am getting no 'error' or
'success' confirmation so I cannot tell if I am connecting. Additionally,
When creating a dataset using the connection above, I click next from the
'New Data Set' window but an NOT taken to the 'Edit Data Set' window. The
only thing that happens is that the next button is disabled. There is no
where to write a query.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Hi

How do you test the connection? Use 'Test Connection' button in data
source or some other way? If you test the connection there must be a
dialog or message tell you whether connection successful. When create a
dataset based on the fail connection datasource, there must be a warning
to tell your that the connection of datasource is failed. I have tried
your scenario in my build, it works and the next button is not gray.

I can now successfully connect to a DB - but - When I go to make a data
set with my db connection, I choose the 'data source' and 'data set type'
('SQL Select Query'). I click 'Next' and the whole application shuts down.

I see there have been a few people having problems connecting to an Oracle
10g database (but did not see any responses to the problems). Has anyone
else had this problem and if so do you have any suggestions?
