useexternalfile on Eclipse 3.2 vs 3.3 [message #247669] Mon, 04 February 2008 18:19 Go to next message

Hello -

I'm new to Eclipse and will be using it to manage a project that is being
transferred to my department. The project is built by an XML file through
Ant, and the javadoc command is very long so we are forced to use the
useexternalfile option. This works fine on Eclipse 3.2, but produces a
"javadoc: invalid flag: -" error on 3.3. Did something change with regard
to support of this option? I am running on WinXP.

Thanks in advance.

Dave,

We moved from Ant 1.6.5 to Ant 1.7.0 between 3.2 and 3.3

Since we do not alter the Ant distribution I would suggest checking out the
Apache Ant documentation
(http://ant.apache.org/manual/CoreTasks/javadoc.html) or pinging their user
mailing list to figure out what is no longer working for you.
As well are you using the same VM? Possibly the javadoc tool changed as
well?

Thanks for the response, I'll go pester the Ant folks :-) Everything
(project code, JVM) is exactly the same, the only difference is Eclipse
3.2.2 vs 3.3.1.1.
