This is no doubt a well known problem but it's just killed my ability to
use. I am using the XML datasource on a fairly large but relatively flat
XML file (>500K) with many report items. When I try to generate a report my
system goes off to Neverland for at least an hour. There appears to be a
fairly serious performance problem with the XML datasource code.

So are there alternatives? Lots of people talk about using POJO's as a
datasource do they perform significantly better?
