Help getting patch compare editor to show entire file [message #218674] Tue, 30 March 2004 22:07

When applying a patch to a resource (Team->Apply Patch..), is there any
way to get the compare viewer to show the entire contents of the file(s)
the patch is being applied to rather than just the hunks being applied?

At work, we frequently pass around patch files as a means for other
developers to peer review code changes before commit, and while the Apply
Patch action makes it easier to browse the contents of the patch, it would
be much easier if the compare editor could show the entire source file so
you could see more of the context in which the hunk applies.

I checked the documentation, and it describes an action "Compare With ->
Patch" which sounds like it would do this, but this action does not seem
to be present in eclipse 3.0M8.

Any help appreciated.

Matt
