Line Start editor command behavior [message #202804] Thu, 11 October 2007 18:08 Go to next message

Hi all,

I've introduced a friend to CDT recently. Overall he's very happy and now
uses cdt exclusively. The one thing that frustrates him is how the Home
Key, bound to the Line Start editor command, goes to the front of the
indented text. It seems his ingrained habit is for Home Key to always
bring cursor to column zero.

I've looked for an option to change this behavior and haven't found one so
far.

Would the easiest solution be for me to learn how to write a plugin to
provide the behavior he wants? Is there a better way to go about it?

Thanks

Norm

Try the Smart Caret Positioning option on the General->Editors->Text
Editor preference page.

That's exactly what I needed. Looks new in 4.0. (My apologies for looking
all over and still managing to somehow miss this!)

Thanks!
