When I use BIRT report designer (2.1.1) to connect to a big database
with a lot of shemas an tables, the table definition dialog is very slow.

Somebody else is experiencing with this problem? Is there any workaround?

Thank you,
Paolo Di Tommaso

Paolo,

What database are you using? I have only experienced this on Oracle.

Paolo,

How many schema/tables are in your database? You may want to consider
using the dialog found at:
Windows => Preferences => Report Design => Data Set Editor
=> JDBC Data Set

Once there you can change the Maximum number of schemas to display and
Maximum number of tables in each scheme to display.

The downside is that you will have to start to use the filter dialog to
pick the tables you want.

I'm using Oracle .. !

Anyway Scott have suggested me to use the "Maximum number of schemas to
display" option in the JDBC Data Set preference page.

This solve in some way the problem.
