GEF i18n in a RCP app [message #194795] Tue, 06 September 2005 10:12 Go to next message

Hi all,

I was wondering what exactly I had to do to get GEF translations working
within a RCP application.
I downloaded NLpack-GEF-ALL-3.0.1.zip an unpacked the contents in my app's
feature and plugin directory. This however seems not to be sufficient as
translations are not working.
What else is required for it to work?

Thanks a lot in advance!

Fabian

I changed the locale using -nl <locale> which seemed to work well for my own
externalized strings - so did -Duser.language=<locale>. However GEF doesn't
seem to care :(
Might the problem be the fact, that GEF's translation shows version 3.0.1
whereas the GEF plugin itself is 3.1 ?!?

Definitely, you have to wait for 3.1.x translations to become available. You
could hack up the 3.0.x, but some messages have been added.

Hi Randy,

I guess I'm just gonna translate the 3.1 messages. Who am I gonna send the
German version to - if y'all are interested in it? Is that you, Pratik or
someone else?

Fabian

As with previous releases, IBM is translating most of the Eclipse projects'
messages into many different languages. Thanks anyway :-)
