Hi everyone,

i'm running into an issue when i try to connect to my own software site without https. Eclipse Version is 4.28.0.

The connection under preferences --> install/update --> available software sites is created with http for example "http://download.eclipse.org/eclipse/updates/latest".

When i try to connect to the site with "install new software" the protocol is switched to https and i get an error "connection to https://download.eclipse.org/eclipse/updates/latest failed". Because my server does not provide ssl.

With Eclipse Version 4.20.0 everything works fine. Is https forced upon software site connections? And if so, can i deactivate https for my repository.
