Hi

I am trying to install Eclipse for Java Developers in a VDI environment. Eclipse works in my gold image(with Admin as the user) but for the regular user it does not work. I get the following error while trying to launch Eclipse "The Eclipse executable launcher was unable to locate its companion shared library". I also noticed that in the eclipse.ini file the launcher.library points to a folder in the Admin account which the regular user does not have access to.

Any support is greatly appreciated
Thanks in advance

Eclipse does support multi-user installs. There are guidelines for how to do this in the documentation.

When you say regular users don't have access to that folder, do you mean they cannot even read from it? There is no way that would work: the workspace and configuration areas can be private, but initial installation has to be readable for things to get started.

If you expect to get help, please read up on resources regarding multi-user installations. Then post back with a specific issue, explaining exactly what product you installed, and how you installed it.

I am trying to install Eclipse IDE on virtual machine. But after the install, the IDE is not opening. It's just showing an error like can't be opened. What can I do? Here are some Android Secret Codes which you can use to do amazing things on your smartphones. Visit here: https://safetricks.org/android-secret-codes/

Try to provide more details. E.g., which operating system is this for? Which version of Eclipse did you try to install? What specifically is the error message? If your virtual machine is Windows, try to use the installer because it will check that you have an appropriate version of Java installed.

Also look at the details here to see if a solution to your problem exists there:
