Is there any schedule for Cheetah? In particular, will support for
enumerations,
autoboxing, and static imports be coming soon? In case anyone cares,
enumerations
are definitely my highest priority. Thanks.

I too would love to see the release schedule (if any) for Cheetah...

We don't have a formalized schedule for Cheetah deliveries.
A fair answer is *after* we ship 3.0 <g>. We will still try to post a better
patch before end of June,
but it will not support enumerations by then. Currently, the area of
improvements are around leveraging some of the generics in the JavaModel
(which is the corner stone for all the IDE Java tools... outliner, errors in
editor, etc...).

Apparently Cheetah is not considered a very high priority. This is rather
disappointing. Not even having a schedule means that we can't even plan
ahead. You have a very detailed schedule for 3.0, why not for Cheetah?
Many people have requested one. My guess is that a schedule would be a
committment and I guess you don't want to commit to supporting 1.5.
I think I'll give NetBeans a try.

Then why do you think we bother working on this preview ?
Yes we want to deliver 1.5, but we want to deliver one thing at a time.
Don't ask for a schedule for Eclipse R3.1 until R3.0 is done.
