Search plans for 3.0 [message #159663] Thu, 20 May 2004 14:38 Go to next message

Hi,

Is anyone else left with an impression that tons of features are being
added for 3.0 while Java search is left behind. I keep finding Java search
functionality rather useless compared with stellar features in other
areas. For example, how about a search option that would allow us to
search for an occurence of a certain type being a parameter of a method,
return type of a method, referenced within a method and so on?

All the best.

it is a little late for new features in 3.0 but I would:
file the feature requests for what you see as missing in the search
functionality
attach the patches that implement the functionality

That way these requests can be addressed early in the next iteration of
Eclipse

Thanks
Darins
