Apologies if this is the incorrect newsgroup....

I'm a Technical Writer and I've recently developed an online Help plugin for
my client's Eclipse software plugin (a Java code analyzer). More generally,
I'm also looking at the various methods of presenting Help documentation
over the internet (instead of bundled with shipped software) and at present
I'm getting caught out because the technology is seemingly Microsoft
dependent (more specifically Internet Explorer dependent).

So, knowing that the Eclipse Help environment runs in almost any type of
internet browser, my question is, is it possible to create my own Help
environment (based on the Eclipse Help environment) for use with my own Help
documentation projects - independent of Eclipse? If so, are there any useful
web resources available?

Why do not you just setup an infocenter with your plug-in

Many thanks Konrad... this seems to be exactly what I was after....I wonder
what the licensing implications are... similar to using Eclipse?

Yes, this is Eclipse :-)
You only launch it with a customized command.
