Hi,

I saw somewhere notes from a GMF project kickoff meeting where among
other things the default serialisation syntax was discussed.

Why GMF persists to notation model and not to XMI[DI]. What were the
disadvantages/advantages of both in this case ?

thanks in advance
dawid

There is some discussion on this in the newsgroup archive, so try searching
it and the old eclipse.technology.gmf newsgroup. The notation model was
donated by the runtime team (IBM), who found the DI spec to be inadequate
for their needs.

At Eclipse Summit Europe last year, we had some discussion with the author
of the spec who agreed it should be revised, possibly to align with the GMF
notation model. Nothing more came of this, as it seems there is
insufficient interest/time.

Hope this helps,
Rich
