Unhandled Exception In Eclipse [message #146198] Fri, 27 February 2004 20:22 Go to next message

Suse9.0
Eclipse 2.1

When trying to access Preferences I am getting:

Unhandled exception caught in event loop.
Reason:
java.lang.NullPointerException

I had been using Eclipse sucessfully for 2 days. I accidentally opened a
2nd
instance of Eclipse on the same machine. I let it fully open and then
closed
it. After this happened I could no longer see in content in the Navigator
window. It said something like "unable to show content"...or something
like
that (sorry I don't remember exactly, the message is now gone).

I have since closed Eclipse, restarted machine....etc...etc. Now I can no
longer get to the Preferences menu. When I select it, it briefly blinks,
and
then I get the error above at the command line.

Anyone have any thoughts? If I reinstall Eclipse, I know I can keep my
workspaces safe. But will I lose everything else...my new editor modules,
tomcat, etc. setups?

Thanks,
Rob

Thanks Darin, that did the trick.

Sorry to have not found this bug in the bug archives. I looked but did
not
