Sorry for the beginner's question, but I _am_ one...
I have a plugin (http://eclipseme.sourceforge.net/) - how do I go about
installing it?

Extract it to the plugins directory. Usually that's about it.

In M7 and it's a feature you will also need to go to the Update Manager
and activate it by using "Process Detected Changes".

How do I go to the "update manager"? I tried Help->Software Update, but
there's only "Find and Install" and "Manage Configuration" there... neither
have "Process Detected Changes".
Thanks.

I am really lost here - I have no idea how to install this plugin (which I
need badly). Can anyone please refer me to a location where it explains
clearly (for dummies like me) what needs to be done (without assuming any
prior knowledge of eclipse).
Please help me out,
Thanks.

Did you unzip it to the plugins directory as Eric suggested? I took a
look at the plugin and unzipping works as there is no feature involved
so no extra steps would be needed.

Unzip it as-is? not into its own directory (according to its package)?

Yes as is. The final directory would look like

<eclipseinstalldir>/eclipse/plugins/eclipseme
