Cannot save file [message #125052] Tue, 09 September 2003 12:12 Go to next message

Hi there, I get this error message box popping up when I try to save
(compile) a file in Eclipse 3.0 M3:

Save could not be completed.
Reason: Resource is out of sync with the file system:
/MyProject/source/dk/alphagruppen/commands/MyCmd

Can someone tell me what it means? I know that what I am editing is "out of
sync" (ie not the same as) the file on the disk - that's why I want to save
it to disk. The funny thing is this only seems to happen to one of my
files - all the others in the project seem to be fine.

Thanks,
Peter

Hi,

you have to refresh your project, because another Application read or wrote
to a file in your eclipse project.
Rightclick on the project and click on refresh. After this, the problem
should be solved.

I did try "refresh" but this was no help. I had to close Eclipse and start
it up again. But I think the problem lies with some sort of compatibility
problem with the copy of Jalopy I am using. Maybe Jalopy doesn't work with
3.0 M3?

Anyway, if I try to format with Jalopy then Eclipse starts to behave
abnormally. For example, it can't save the file, and a little red X appears
beside the filename in the "package explorer" even though there is not error
identified in the file itself.
