it's in the IEditorActionDelegate javadoc:
/**
* Sets the active editor for the delegate.

*/
public void setActiveEditor(IAction action, IEditorPart targetEditor);
here you can check if targetEditor is of type *DiagramEditor and then
use the #getEditingDomain() method on it.
