project plan/roadmap? 1.0 release date? [message #29344] Thu, 25 June 2009 19:00

Hi,

I've been using the maven-eclipse-plugin for awhile now, and things have
been pretty good, for my purposes. We're using WTP to deploy to
WebLogic, and are hoping that M2E can give us more control over
configuration, particularly with weblogic-application.xml, which I
haven't figured out how to use with our EAR project, since
maven-eclipse-plugin generates the application.xml for WTP.

It appears that the maven-eclipse-plugin folks assume that M2E will
eventually render maven-eclipse-plugin obsolete, so I wanted to know
roughly when we can expect a 1.0 release. Looking over the sites below,
I can't find any project timeline/roadmap:

http://www.eclipse.org/m2e/
http://www.eclipse.org/projects/project_summary.php?projecti d=technology.m2e
http://docs.codehaus.org/display/M2ECLIPSE/New+and+Noteworth y
http://docs.codehaus.org/display/M2ECLIPSE/Home

Jason mentioned in the JDJ article awhile back that they planned to
release M2E with Eclipse 3.5, but that didn't happen. I do see the
0.9.9 plan, but we'd prefer to wait for the full 1.0 release. Could
someone please update those web pages with some kind of project plan
with release dates?

Thanks!
Ari
