[contribution] Hello Gef #2, a minimalist code example with moveable connected nodes [message #28317] Thu, 10 October 2002 10:20 Go to next message

Hello,

I have written the second episode of my "Hell Gef #" series : save as
before, but it now has connections!

To save space in this newsgroup and to avoid MIME / attachement problems, I
posted the code at Eclipse Wiki's site, in GEF / Examples section.

Direct link (don't know if it is persistent) is
http://eclipsewiki.swiki.net/50, if it does not work, go to
http://eclipsewiki.swiki.net/50.

What will be next? well, I hesitate between these ones:
1 - multi anchors per nodes example
2 - add bendpoints support to the connections
3 - add support to move the end point of a connection from one node to
another
4 - node / connection deletion support
5 - add a palette to allow creation of nodes & connections

of course, this is by order of my current preference, and what I suspect is
the most progressive learning path.
If better idea, please post

Alex.

I would prefer 3.
The reconnection of connections is the (tricky) part where I'm stuck
at the moment.

Relocate the SourceConnectionAnchor when you move the Target [message #29336 is a reply to message #28317] Fri, 11 October 2002 17:04 Go to previous messageGo to next message

Hi,

In Omondo UML plugin, you can have multiple connections between different
classes. When you move the target class, the source connection anchor will
be automatically relocated also, so that all connections in a class will
never intercept.

I would like to know how they did that. Thanks for any ideas/suggestions.

What for ? do you mean in order to have bendable connection?
Otherwise tell us more...
