newline character in windows/unix [message #283804] Tue, 12 April 2005 13:22 Go to next message

Hi,

I created a text file under eclipse/windows.

If I upload the file to Unix. Under vi, I can see ^M at the end of every
line.

I understand Windows has an extra ^M as newline char.

Is there a way to configure Eclipse to use Unix newline character instead
of Windows newline character? Thanks.

You can go to "Source->Convert Line Delimiters To" if you want to conver=

one file at a time. Unfortunately, I do not know of a way to set a defau=

line delimiter. If anyone knows of a way, I'd love to hear it because \r=

is slowly eating my soul away.

How about setting the line.delimiter system property when starting up
Eclipse?
