Has anyone run into CVS connection problems running Windows XP SP2? We have
one machine with SP2 connecting to a CVS server using SSH which cannot
connect after creating a new Repository location. This same server is being
accessed by numerous developers (using Eclipse 3.01 and 3.1) using Windows
XP SP1. So we uninstalled SP2 on the machine in question and were able to
connect.

I don't have Eclipse running on SP2, but did try to completely switch off
the firewall with SP2 installed? Did it make a difference? Normally the
firewall blocks only outgoing connections AFAIK, but it still might
interfere with network comm in ways that prevent SSH from working
correctly. Just an idea.

Kind regards

robert

Yes, we disabled the personal firewall but that didn't help either.

Paul,

Feel free to add a comment to bug
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=73144 stating the problem
you encountered and add yourself to the CC list. Any CVS issues with SP2
will be tracked there.

Darn!

What about ssh, did you check it standalone, i.e. tried to open a
connection from the command prompt? You can enable tracing to console
with "ssh -vvv" to see what happens.

Kind regards
