Hello,
Migrating from M8 to M9 has been very simple on Mac OS X 10.3.4.
- I exported my preferences (Window/Preferences ...).
- As admin user I expand <eclipse-SDK-3.0M9-macosx-carbon.tar> to
/Volumes/HD/Developer/Applications with StuffitExpander.
- Back as normal user, Drag new Eclipse icon to the dock
- Click that icon and specify my Workbench location
- Import my preferences
- All my projects where there and I could enjoy the new features

Bravo to Mac OS X Eclipse team. You did a great job.

Two suggested improvements for final 3.0 release for Mac OS X platform

- Avoid duplicated icons in the dock when Eclipse runs
First one is the alias to Eclipse.app named "Eclipse"
Second one, same icon but named "java-swt" and corresponds to the
running application. (Selecting Eclipse icon does not bring to front
the application, you have to select icon named "java-swt")
It can be confusing while switching between applications.

- For easy installation create a Mac OS X package
With this process, it would not require to use StuffitExpander
and Eclipse would be easily & properly installed or updated

Thanks to Mac OS Eclipse team for the great job and best regards

This installation has been tested on
Imac Flat Panel 17", RAM 512 Mo, G4 1.25 GHz, Mac OS X 10.3.4
Java 1.4.2 (build 1.4.2_03-117.1), CVS 1.11.11 (perso installation)
