How to lay out two files side by side in editors? [message #242798] Thu, 20 May 2004 14:48

Usually when the user open a java file in Eclipse, it will appear in the
editor area (in most perspective), and this new opened file will be brought
to top and hide the other open files in this editor area. If I want to show
both file side by side in the editor area, I need to drag one tab to the
left or right of this area.

Now I want to change this displaying model of files in the editor. When the
user open a file, I want to open it in the editor area, and this new open
file appears to the right of the other opened files. Is that possible? which
APIs correspond to such actions?

Thanks a lot
Xiaoxia
