Problem in using the Web viewer with a PDF output [message #242683] Thu, 14 June 2007 12:00 Go to next message

Hello, I try to use the BIRT Web viewer (BIRT Runtime 2.1.2) with a pdf
output format. Using the following URL :
http://192.134.151.114/TableauDeBord/run?__report=visites.rp tdesign&periode=01042007&__format=pdf

I get nothing in console and logs.
With Firefox 2, I am prompted with the message
"Le fichier ne commence pas par '%PDF-'"
What means "The file does not start with '%PDF-'"
With Internet Explorer 7, I got the following message on my web page :
"org.eclipse.birt.report.service.api.ReportServiceException: Report engine
fails to create extension to handle this request."

I have no problem when I replace the __format value "pdf" by "html".
It seems I do not call the URL with the right parameters (do I need an
outpout filename ?).

The report I call is "visites.rptdesign" and "periode" is a report
parameter.

Could anyone help me ?

Thanks.

It might be useful to indicate I succeed in building the pdf document
directly from my application using the BIRT framework (separating run
and render).

Thanks for any help.
