Hello. I am new to Eclipse. I have recently been learning Python, and
wanted to try PyDev. I downloaded Eclipse, used the Software updates
under help, provided (I believe) the correct URL, and received the
following:
Pydev Mylyn Integration (0.3.0) requires plug-in "org.eclipse.mylyn
(2.0.0.v20070627-1400)", or later version.
So, I found the latest version of Mylyn -- and again using the
help->Software updates, tried to update Mylyn. I received the following:
Mylyn Task List (Required) (2.1.0.v20070927-0900) requires plug-in
"org.eclipse.ui (3.4.0.I20070918)", or later version.
I'm utterly lost trying to find the update for org.eclips.ui, so I tried
Help-->software updates-->Find and install-->Search for updates of the
currently installed features
I'm taken to a list of mirror sites - I've chosen various, with the same
effect. I chose Eclipse Project Updates and get Eclipse RCP Patch 1 for
3.3.1.1 3.3.1.1_v20071204_3311 --- I go through the process accepting the
license agreement, and eventually get an error:
Update Operation has failed - and the details say:
Update operation has failed

I downloaded Eclipse
Version: 3.3.1.1
Build id: M20071023-1652
I am running on Windows XP (Media Center Edition), Version 2002, Service
Pack 2
Thanks for any help!

Hi,
If you have Eclipse 3.3.1.1 then my tip would be to install Mylyn 2.1
from the following update site:
http://download.eclipse.org/tools/mylyn/update/e3.3
This installations should go without any problems. If so then try to
install Pydev Mylyn Integration.
By the way do you really need Pydev Mylyn Integration? If you just need
PyDev then this mylyn integration is not required.
Hope this helps,
Jakub
