Hello,

how can the fore- and background color of a selected table row be changed -
if possible?
Or is this OS dependent and thus fixed, i. e. not available for changes?

You need to use owner draw because the color is coming from the OS. An
example implementation can be found in the following bug I filed against
e4 [1].

The stuff that you are interested in is the ThemeableSelectionLabelProvider.
