Plugins that work in 2.1 don't seem to work in 3.0. Is there a secret?

These are really plugin specific...I ran into the same problem with a
plugin called EclipseColorer...The developer had a patch available
(reaplacing the <requires> segment of the plugin.xml) that corrected the
problems...

Thing is, if the developer for the plugin you wish to use hasn't updated
that plugin for 3.0...You really only have two choices...
1. Try and correct it yourself if you have the plugin source code.
2. Stay at 2.1
