Hello,
I'm currently searching for a proof of concept regarding a GEF
Application with "normal" Texteditor elements.
It's my aim to develop some kind of Nassi-Shneiderman-Editor as a plugin
for Eclipse. It would be used as a Source Code Editor for Structured
Programming (for Example C). I don't know wether you can imagine such
kind of editor. Nassi-Shneiderman-Diagrams are also called Structured
Flowcharts. My Customer don't want to create abstract diagrams before
the implementation, but he wants to write his source code directly in
that Nassi-Shneiderman-Editor.
I'm really a newby regarding plugin development with Eclipse and
especially the use of GEF.
I've already made some experiments with draw2d, but I haven't found the
possibility to "embed" normal swt elements. I'd like to merge several
instances of the editor from the cdt (for c source code) with the
structural flowcharts created with gef / draw2d.
Do you know any examples showing such kind of combination (graphical
diagram merged with text editor parts).
I'm looking forward to get any hints regarding my problem,
Yours, Tobias.

Embedding SWT Control's is possible. Embedding entire editors is currently
a very difficult task. See bug 46207.
