Passing a Parameter by URL [message #165603] Tue, 30 May 2006 13:27 Go to next message

I am wanting to pass reports parameters by a form which will in turn send
the parameter to the report via the URL. I have this part working fine,
the report in HTML or PDF uses the parameter, but when I use frameset it
uses a default parameter or the last parameter that was used (even from
another machine). This is also the case with the example that is provided
with the BIRT install.

For example:
http://127.0.0.1:8181/birt-viewer/frameset?__report=test.rpt design&sample=hello+world

will use the parameter: "my parameter" even though I passed it "hello
world". This is from the example that is installed with BIRT. The only
way I get it to use a new parameter is by running the report from within
the view, or leaving the parameter in the URL blank, in which case a
pop-up for the parameter appears.

Any help would be appreciated.

hi,

is it possible to connect BIRT to a Microsoft Access (mdb) data source
on a distant host (through network) ?

i heard some jdbc/odbc drivers might not be available to operate through
network.
